"How to Master the Violin" 在某種程度上跟 "Playing the Violin: An Illustrated Guide" 是十分的相近. 基本上, Bytovetzski 把他認為所有的基本小提琴的姿勢以及練習法都寫了出來, 像是左手握琴, 右手握弓, 夾琴, 手的角度, 如何練習音準換把等等. 在姿勢這方面, 也列出可以做以及不可以做的事情. 當然, 圖還是少很多, 但是比起大部分的小提琴教材來說, 也不算少了.
這本小書有很多小地方是相當不錯的, 像是有列表, 排一些教材的簡易順序. 有如何練琴, 如何練音準, 等等.
在 小提琴的literature 裡面, 這恐怕是最注重基本姿勢的 (除了 Rush 的新書以外), 而且也非常清楚的說一些 "規則". 但是比較不一樣的是, 他總是說 "應該" 而不是 "可以/試著這樣做". 肉丸子是覺得, 每個人真的都不太一樣, 有很多東西是一個 guide 而不是 absolute truth. 但是, 有一些東西是不變的, 一些非常基礎的東西, 像是音準一類的. 基本上小提琴家都是用適合自己的方法來做到一樣的效果或者是跟隨一樣的概念. 而這一點也解釋為什麼很多小提琴家姿勢不同, 但都可以做到同樣的技術. 如果了解其中的道理, 會發現其實是大同小異的. 而對於學琴來說, 有時候要把基礎的原理(不變的)跟方法(可能會變的) 分開來並不是那麼的容易.

Thanks for your support and kind comments. Actually I am not too sure why you couldn't read my posts from 2007-2008.
But if you are saying that I haven't been working hard for my blog, I am certainly guilty of that! Right now there isn't much for me to update, not that there is nothing more to write, but more like there are other things in life that's taking a bigger chunk of my time right now.
